What is Home To Home?
Home To Home is a service the Champaign County Humane Society offers to pet owners in the community who are seeking to place their pet(s) in new homes without ever entering a shelter. This program helps reduce stress on both owners and their pet, while simultaneously reducing the number of animals being relinquished to shelters. Home To Home is a resource not just for those who need to rehome their pet, but also for those interested in adopting.
How do I rehome a pet via Home To Home?
If you are needing to rehome your pet and wish to do so privately, please visit the Home To Home website. You will be prompted to create profiles for both yourself and your pet. CCHS will review your post, and tentatively approve or deny the request within 72 hours.
Once your post has been approved, potential adopters will be able to contact you through Home To Home about their interest in adopting the pet. All communication with the interested parties, meetings, and the adoption are handled by you. Tips and resources for successfully rehoming your pet via Home To Home can be found on their website, here.
