Animal Care Staff – Full Time
CCHS has full-time positions available on the Animal Care Staff. Animal care staff is responsible for daily care and cleaning of animals.
Hours will include weekend days, some evenings, and some holidays. Starting pay is $16.00 an hour.
Qualifications:
- Animal handling experience
- Knowledgeable in animal behavior
Responsibilities include:
- Sanitization and maintenance of animal kennels
- Maintenance of facility
- Daily feeding of animals
- Dog walking
- Kennel enrichment
- Animal socialization
- Animal intakes
- Data entry

Medical Care Staff – Full Time
CCHS has an open full-time position on the Medical Care staff. This position involves examination and monitoring of animals for health and wellness; administering treatments and medications to shelter animals; fecal analysis; basic cytologies, etc.
Hours will include weekend days, some evenings, and some holidays. Starting pay is $16.50/hour.
Qualifications:
- Experience handling dogs and cats in a veterinary setting
- Experience with other small animals, a plus, but not required
- Experience with animal restraint, a plus, but not required
- Good communication skills (in person and in writing)
- Good customer service skills recommended
- Accurate data entry/computer skills required
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
Responsibilities include:
- Examination and monitoring of animals for health and wellness
- Administering treatments and medications to shelter animals
- Communicating about animal health with the Shelter Veterinarian, Shelter Manager, Medical staff and other departmental staff members as well as with volunteers, interns, and members of the public
