Development Director
The Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising and donor-cultivation strategies for the Society. Existing strategies include direct mail (fundraising appeals and newsletters), major gifts, corporate giving and sponsorship, work-place giving, grants, planned giving, monthly giving, memorials, in-kind donations, and social media campaigns
The Development Director is responsible for donor stewardship including written communications, in-person meetings, gift acknowledgement, and maintaining an accurate and current donor database.
The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and an outgoing personality. Other desirable attributes include: self-motivated; well organized; deadline driven; creative; analytical; and able to juggle multiple tasks and goals.
The Development Director reports directly to the Executive Director, and will also work closely with the Society’s Event Coordinator and other administrative team members.
With over 100 years of history in Champaign County, the Champaign County Humane Society is well-supported by the community. It receives no funding from State, County, or municipal government.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of three years of experience in non-profit development or fundraising
This is a full-time salaried position. Annual salary range: $59,000 – 66,000. Benefits include: Paid holidays and PTO policy, paid sick time, an employee health insurance plan, a free mental health support program, and a Simple IRA plan.
