Treibball Classes

Registration is now FULL for the new and exciting dog-training class at CCHS – Treibball!

Treibball is a fun game for dogs requiring them to ‘herd’ large exercise balls (using their nose) into a pen, at the direction of their handler.  It's a really fun, low-key dog sport for dogs and people of all ages. To see the game in action, check out Riley and one of our trainers, HERE!

We’re delighted to have two experienced dog trainers working together to introduce this activity to more dog owners.  The class will be lead by Treibball enthusiast and experienced dog trainer, Harriett Weatherford.  Harriett will be assisted by Mary Young, of Sport K-9.  The class will be limited to 7 participants, and currently all seats are committed.

A prerequisite for the class is successful completion of a “basic manners” or obedience class with any reputable trainer. If you're in need of a basic manners course, we have one starting in August as well! Dogs won't be able to attend both, but we'd love to get you started!

Treibball class will meet from 6:30-7:30 pm, every Wednesday evening for six weeks, starting on Wednesday, August 23rd.

Cost is $120.00.

Registration for Treibball class is now open!  Call the shelter to register by phone at 217-344-7297.

Harriett's dog, Morgan, practices Treibball at home.
