We use newspaper in our cat and critter cages EVERY DAY, so we are often in need of folded newspaper.
Collecting, re-folding, and delivering newspapers dramatically reduce the time it takes our staff to re-paper cages, allowing us to devote more time to animal care.
We've made a handy YouTube video tutorial on how to fold newspapers for animal cages. You can watch it here, or reference the instructions and pictures below.
Written instructions for newspaper refolding:
Step 1
Lay full sheet newspapers out flat and remove half sheet inserts and glossy ads. Please make a separate pile of inserts for later use. Discard glossy ads.
Step 2
Stack the full newspaper sheets together in a large stack until you have roughly two to four inches of paper. Stack half sheets (without glossy pages) in the same fashion.
Step 3
Fold the stack of full newspaper sheets into thirds and secure with string or rubber bands. Fold the inserts in half and secure.
