Illinois Race Weekend

We're off to a "Running Start" toward Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend!

As a Charity Running Partner of the race, we're proud to participate in this local tradition. Every year, the race provides the opportunity to gather support for homeless pets in need. And you can help! Join us by raising money as a runner or walker on our team, or by volunteering your time to the race.

Thinking about running or walking?

Join our fundraising team! Our Event Coordinator will give you a discount code for registration if you want to fundraise for homeless animals as you train for your races! The registration cost will rise as we get closer to race weekend, but our non-profit team registration fee will stay the same! Plus, dedicated team members will receive a hand-printed version of the Run with Purr-pose t-shirt to thank them for raising at least $250 for pets. The runner who raises the most will name a litter of our spring or summer kittens! It's just a small way we can say, "thank you for caring and sharing!"

Ready to Race? Email Us to Register!

Once you've registered for your race and fundraising for CCHS, we will reach out with more information on how you can engage your friends, family, and followers with our mission and make a difference in the lives of animals throughout Champaign County.

If you have already registered for your race, and now want to run for CCHS, there's still time to fundraise! Reach out to our Event Coordinator to be added to our team.

Not a Runner? Volunteer!

If "sit and stay" is more your speed, we would love your volunteer support on the race course! If you can spend a few hours cheering on runners, you can help raise money for the shelter. All volunteers on the "Course Team" at Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend will earn $25 for the charity of their choice. They also perform a vital service to the race organization, by keeping runners safe.

Sign up now to join the "Course Team"

Course team volunteers have a lot of responsibility, and a lot of fun! The racecourses are on streets all through town, so the Race Weekend team will depend on hundreds of volunteers to monitor traffic on the course.

  1. Check your availability for April 24-26, 2025
  2. Look for a volunteer shift on one of the "Course Teams", at a convenient time and place.
Know anyone who is joining the race? Consider finding a spot along their race route, to cheer them on!
  3. When the registration form asks "Are you with a charity running partner?" The answer is YES! You'll select the Champaign County Humane Society! 🐾

Sign up to volunteer on the "Course Team"!

If you still have questions about volunteering, check out the official FAQ page or their training videos for a complete overview of the volunteer position. First time course volunteers will have to attend safety training live, in person or by Zoom, so all your questions will be answered there. Thank you for volunteering for pets!

Do you run with 'purr' pose? T Shirts available at Bonfire.
