Make a Difference

If your "helping hands" are looking for a way to impact your community, consider volunteering with the pets at CCHS.

Volunteers are vital, because cats, dogs, and critters at the shelter need our help (and look forward to playing with us!) 365 days a year

Join our next online volunteer orientation on February 5th at 5 PM, to learn more about ways you can improve the lives of pets.

A brindled dog named Donkey, wearing a party hat and bow tie. Donkey has been adopted.

Calling all Party Animals

Did you know? CCHS offers birthday parties here at the shelter!

Consider inviting one of our pets to your child's next party, for a fun and educational experience for all.

Read about parties here and reach out to our event coordinator with any questions about booking or touring the shelter's party classroom!

An orange male cat named 'Puddin', looking out the window of his CCHS enclosure.

Find Puddin a Home

When you walk into the shelter right now, Puddin is one of the first things you'll see! As the current King of Cuddletown, he is usually found right at the front window, curiously watching everyone go by (supervising, if you will).

Puddin is lucky enough to have two big windows in his CCHS home, but we all know he deserves a houseful!

Meet Puddin

If you don't have room in your life or home for Puddin, please consider sharing his profile! The more people who meet him, the higher chance of finding his family.

Caring for the Animals of Champaign County

We also provide humane education and a variety of programs to support and promote responsible pet ownership and prevent abandonment, cruelty and neglect. Since we opened our first shelter in 1954, we've helped thousands of animals find loving homes! Join us in making a lasting impact.
